# 3D Logo Maker > A 3D logo maker is a tool that turns a flat logo into a 3D model. Kenerate's free maker works in your browser from an SVG or a PNG: set the width and depth in millimetres, add a plate or keychain tab, and download STL, 3MF or GLB. Your logo is never uploaded. Or save a PNG screenshot — turn the grid off for a transparent background. - SVG or PNG: SVG gives perfect curves and colour layers. A transparent PNG works too: its opaque area becomes the shape. - Multi-colour printing: Raise each SVG colour a little so a filament change at each height prints your brand colours. - Read the logo: SVG paths are grouped by colour; PNG pixels are split by transparency or brightness. - Scale: The logo is centred and sized to your width in millimetres. - Extrude: Each shape is raised to its depth, optionally on a plate or keychain tab. - Export: STL / 3MF for printing, GLB for screens. - STL (Stereolithography): Triangle mesh (binary or ASCII); by 3D Systems, 1987. Holds: Triangle surfaces, Facet normals. Lacks: Colour and textures, Units, Materials. Best for: 3D printing — every slicer opens it. Opens in: Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Blender. - 3MF (3D Manufacturing Format): ZIP package with XML; by 3MF Consortium, 2015. Holds: Meshes with units (millimetres), Colours and materials, Several objects and build plates. Lacks: Animation. Best for: Modern 3D printing and multi-colour prints. Opens in: Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura, Windows 3D Builder. - GLB (glTF 2.0 Binary): Single-file scene with PBR materials; by Khronos Group, 2017 (glTF 2.0). Holds: Meshes and PBR materials, Textures in the same file, Animation and skins. Lacks: Units beyond metres, CAD precision. Best for: Web, AR and real-time apps — the “JPEG of 3D”. Opens in: Browsers (three.js, model-viewer), Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot. ## Steps 1. Add your logo — Choose SVG or PNG / JPG and drop the file, or try the sample. 2. Set size and depth — Pick the width and how deep the logo should be. 3. Add a base — Choose a plate for a sign or a keychain tab. 4. Download — STL or 3MF to print; GLB for web and 3D apps. ## In depth ### Vector first A logo saved as SVG keeps exact curves and separate colour shapes, which translate directly into smooth extrusions and colour layers. A PNG has to be traced from pixels, so its edges follow the pixel grid. ### Designing for print Fine lines, small text and hairline gaps don't survive at small sizes: walls under about 0.45 mm can't print with a 0.4 mm nozzle, and 0.9 mm is a safer minimum [11]. Logos with separate pieces (like a dot over an i) need a backing plate to stay together. ### Designing for screens For websites and AR, GLB is the standard format [4][8]. Keep depth modest — about 5–10% of the width usually looks best — and add materials in a viewer or editor. A: Drop your logo file into the tool above, set its size and depth, and download. It's free and runs in your browser. Q: Should I use SVG or PNG? A: SVG if you have it — curves stay smooth and each colour can be its own layer. A transparent PNG is the next best thing. Q: Can I 3D print a logo? A: Yes. Download STL or 3MF. Keep the thinnest parts above about 0.9 mm and add a plate if the logo has separate pieces. Q: Can I use the 3D logo on my website? A: Download the GLB and show it with a 3D web viewer, or take a PNG screenshot for a static image. Q: Does it add materials like gold or chrome? A: No — it makes the geometry. Add materials in Blender or your web viewer, or print in a silk or metallic filament. Q: Can I use the result commercially? A: The model is made from your logo, so you can use it as you're allowed to use the logo itself. Q: Is my logo uploaded? A: No. It's processed on your device. ## Related pages - AI 3D Model Generator: https://kenerateai.com/ai-3d-model-generator - Image to 3D: https://kenerateai.com/image-to-3d-converter - AI STL Generator: https://kenerateai.com/ai-3d-printing-model-generator - Text to 3D: https://kenerateai.com/text-to-3d-generator ## Sources - Wikipedia — STL (file format): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STL_(file_format) - Wikipedia — Wavefront .obj file: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavefront_.obj_file - Wikipedia — FBX: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FBX - Khronos Group — glTF: https://www.khronos.org/gltf/ - 3MF Consortium — 3MF specification: https://3mf.io/specification/ - Wikipedia — Universal Scene Description (USD / USDZ): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Scene_Description - Wikipedia — PLY (file format): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PLY_(file_format) - Khronos Group — glTF 2.0 specification: https://registry.khronos.org/glTF/specs/2.0/glTF-2.0.html - Apple — AR Quick Look: https://developer.apple.com/augmented-reality/quick-look/ - three.js — documentation: https://threejs.org/docs/ - Prusa Knowledge Base — Modeling with 3D printing in mind: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/modeling-with-3d-printing-in-mind_164135 - Prusa Blog — lithophanes and filament transparency: https://blog.prusa3d.com/lets-play-with-filament-transparency-how-to-make-amazing-lifelike-color-photos-with-just-a-simple-color-change_104338/ - Polymers (2024) 16(20):2862 — FFF parameters and translucency of PLA: https://doi.org/10.3390/polym16202862 - Wikipedia — Lithophane: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithophane - W3C — CSS Values and Units Level 3 (absolute lengths): https://www.w3.org/TR/css-values-3/ - Adobe Substance 3D — OpenGL vs DirectX normal maps: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/substance-3d/bakers/common-questions/what-is-the-difference-between-the-opengl-and-directx-normal-format - Blender Manual — Normal Map node: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/shader_nodes/displacement/normal_map.html - Wikipedia — Normal mapping: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mapping - SIL Open Font License: https://openfontlicense.org/
