Tips
When several voices share a scene, contrast matters more than realism.
Vary two things between characters: pitch and pace. A slow, low voice next to a quick, bright one reads instantly.
Give each character a written “voice card” — age, mood, accent — and reuse it as a Voice Design prompt.
Keep lines short for character work; long monologues flatten out.
Use Eleven v3 tags like [whispers] or [sarcastic] for a performance change mid-line.
Write sounds as words: “Arr”, “Hmm”, “Ha!” — models perform them better than stage directions.
Don't recreate a real person's or a famous character's voice; design an original one instead.
Example uses
Illustrative examples of typical workflows, not customer reviews.

A faceless channel can keep one consistent narrator across hundreds of videos.

An editor can generate the deep 'in a world' read for a launch teaser.

A podcast can add intros, sponsor reads and segment bumpers in a host voice.

A tool that turns text into speech in a chosen voice using neural text-to-speech models. Kenerate's has 555 preset voices from MiniMax, ElevenLabs, Qwen3 and Kling, plus Voice Design (describe a voice) and instant cloning.
Link to this answerKenerate gives free credits on sign-up, enough to try several voices and engines on your own script. Clips have no watermark and credits never expire.
Link to this answerYes. Voice Design (Qwen3) generates a new voice from a description of 8–800 characters — age, gender, accent, texture and mood — and reads your script with it.
Link to this answerYes — the library includes voices such as Angry Pirate, Kind Troll, Movie Trailer, Lucky Robot and Whisper Woman, and Kling adds 46 character and dialect voices. See the robot and deep voice pages for more demos.
Link to this answerNo. Kenerate doesn't offer celebrity or real-person voices, and you shouldn't clone anyone without their permission. Design an original voice with a similar feel instead.
Link to this answerIt depends on the script. ElevenLabs Eleven v3 and Multilingual v2 and MiniMax Speech 2.8 HD are the most natural in our tests; play the same line on each and keep the one that fits.
Link to this answerKenerate's Terms give you ownership of what you generate, so you can use clips in videos, ads, games and courses. Don't use them to deceive people or imitate real individuals.
Link to this answerAn AI voice generator runs your text through a neural text-to-speech model trained on recorded speech. The model normalizes the text, predicts rhythm, stress and pitch for the chosen voice, then generates the audio waveform. In Kenerate you pick which model does this (MiniMax, ElevenLabs, Qwen3 or Kling), and Voice Design adds a step that builds the voice itself from your description.
Link to this answerGenerating speech from your own script is safe: Kenerate runs in the browser, so there's nothing to install, and you own the clips you make. The risks come from misuse, such as impersonating real people or cloning a voice without consent, which Kenerate doesn't allow. Use preset or designed voices, only clone voices you have permission to use, and label AI narration where a platform asks.

What works, what to avoid, and how the pieces fit.
The studio has three ways to get a voice:
Speech synthesis used to mean concatenating recorded units or modelling formants with rules, which sounded mechanical [3]. Neural models learn prosody — the rhythm, stress and intonation of speech — from large amounts of recorded audio, so they place pauses and emphasis the way a person would. Expressive engines go further and accept cues for emotion and non-speech sounds like laughter.
Synthetic voices can be misused to impersonate real people, a problem usually called audio deepfakes [4]. Keep generated voices original, label AI narration where your platform asks for it, and only clone a voice with the owner's consent.
This page is about choosing or creating the voice itself: characters, narrators, whispers and designed voices. If you mainly need a clean read of a long script in one of 40+ languages, the text to speech page covers languages, character limits and formats. If you are still comparing tools, the best AI voice generators page lines up five of them on facts from their own pricing pages.
