Ideogram says the model outputs 256–2,048 px per side, in multiples of 16, with ratios up to 6:1. On Kenerate the output is about 1 megapixel, for example 880×1168 at 3:4, in five aspect ratios from square to 16:9. Pick the ratio before you generate, since it sets the final shape of the image.

Use Ideogram 4 when the image is about the text: logos, signs, posters, short wordmarks. Use FLUX.2 (for example Flux 2 Klein Base 9B) for general images — on Kenerate it costs 4.5 credits per image versus 15 for Ideogram v4, offers more size presets, and can edit with up to 3 reference images, which Ideogram v4 here cannot. For the highest-fidelity FLUX.2 results there is also Flux 2 Max at 21 credits.

Why short text works and long text slips
Text rendering improves every generation, but models still spend most of their accuracy on the first few words. Keep each text element short, put it in quotes, and split long copy into separate elements — or use a model that handled long lines better in our tests.
Open weights, non-commercial licence
Ideogram released the weights so developers can run and study the model, but the weights licence is non-commercial. Using it through a hosted service is how most people will try it.
