Why stress makes or breaks Russian TTS

Russian stress is free and mobile: it can fall on any syllable and can move between forms of the same word, and unstressed vowels are reduced [1][2]. Written Russian doesn't mark stress, so the voice must infer it from context — which is why homographs like замок (castle/lock) are the classic test.
