Extensions that don't jump

What keeps the continuation seamless.

  • Describe a continuation of the same action — a new subject can cause a cut.
  • Keep the camera move the same as the original clip.
  • Extend in steps and check each one before the next.
  • End the source clip on a clean frame, not mid-blur.
  • Use Wan 3 or Seedance 2.5 when you need sound in the new part.
  • For a new angle, generate a separate shot instead of extending.

How to use the ai video extender

  1. Step 1: Open the video studio

  2. Step 2: Upload your clip

    Any MP4. Seedance 2.0 needs 4–15 s and Seedance 2.5 4–30 s of input.

  3. Step 3: Describe what happens next

    One line: 'the train enters a tunnel', 'she rides out of the wave'. A prompt is required.

What the models can do, how to prompt them, and what isn't allowed.

How extension works

The model reads the end of your clip — the last frames, the subject, the camera move — and predicts what comes next from your prompt. Google describes Veo's version as finalizing the last second of the video and continuing the action; each Veo step adds 7 seconds.

Extend vs generate a new shot

Extend when the same shot should keep going: a train crossing, a surfer riding the wave, a drone move. Generate a new clip when you want a different angle — editors cut between shots rather than stretching one forever.

Chaining extensions

Extend, check the result, and extend again from the new ending. Google's Veo API allows up to 20 extensions for a maximum of 148 seconds; Kling's own extender goes up to 3 minutes in 4–5 second steps.
