Tips
Better Chinese to English translations
What helps most with spoken Chinese.
Record close to the mic: tones carry meaning, and noise blurs them.
Check big numbers: Chinese counts in ten-thousands (万, 亿), so scale slips are the classic error.
Check 'he' and 'she': spoken Chinese uses one sound, tā, for both.
Check names: people and places may come out in pinyin or in English.
Pin Chinese if the speaker mixes in English words.
For English to Chinese, pick Chinese as the target instead.
Example uses
How creators use Chinese to English voice translation
Illustrative examples of typical workflows, not customer reviews.

Export sales manager
An export sales manager could turn a supplier's Chinese voice messages into English audio for colleagues, then double-check every price and quantity in the English version.

Graduate student
A graduate student could translate a recorded Chinese lecture into English speech in the lecturer's own voice to review before an exam.

Travel vlogger
A travel vlogger could dub a Mandarin vlog into English for a wider audience, keeping his own voice, and add lip sync to the close-ups.
FAQ
Chinese to English voice translation: questions
7 questions
Is there a Chinese to English voice translator that keeps my voice?
Yes. Upload or record the Chinese in Kenerate's AI Dubbing, choose English, and the ElevenLabs engine re-voices each speaker in English with a clone of their own voice.
Link to this answerDoes it work for Mandarin and Cantonese?
The tool lists one source language, Chinese, and Mandarin is the common case. Cantonese and other varieties aren't listed separately, so try a short clip first and check the result before translating a long file.
Link to this answerCan it translate English voice to Chinese?
Yes. Chinese is one of the 33 target languages, so upload English speech, pick Chinese and download Chinese speech in the same voice. The demo on this page shows exactly that.
Link to this answerCan I translate a Chinese video to English?
Yes, up to 500 MB and 15 minutes. The picture stays the same and the speech becomes English; add lip sync afterwards for close-ups.
Link to this answerIs this a live interpreter for conversations?
No. It translates recorded files, not live calls. For a face-to-face conversation, a phone app with a conversation mode is the better fit.
Link to this answerHow accurate is Chinese to English voice translation?
Clear speech from one mic translates well. Background music, crosstalk, slang and fast speech lower accuracy, so check names, numbers and technical terms before you share the English version.
Link to this answerIs Chinese to English voice translation free?
Kenerate isn't free to use, but new accounts get starter credits that work on AI Dubbing, enough to try a short Chinese clip. After that it is priced by length, billed by the second up to 15 minutes, with automatic refunds when a run fails.

Chinese to English voice translation, explained
What makes spoken Chinese hard to translate, and what to check in the English.
On this page
Why spoken Chinese is tricky for machines
Chinese is tonal: the same syllable said with a different pitch is a different word [1]. Speech recognition needs clean audio to hear the tones, which is why close-mic recordings translate better than a phone held across a noisy room.
Chinese also leaves out much that English must say: verbs don't change for tense and the spoken third person, tā, covers 'he', 'she' and 'it'. The translation infers these from context, so they are the first things to check.
Numbers and names
Chinese groups large numbers in units of ten thousand (万) and a hundred million (亿) [2], while English groups them in thousands. A figure like 三万 is 30,000, not 3,000. Check every price, date and amount in the English version.
- Big numbers: 万 = 10,000 and 亿 = 100,000,000.
- Names: may come out in pinyin or as an English name.
- Brands and places: check the spelling your audience expects.
What happens to the original audio
The Chinese speech is transcribed and translated, then each speaker is re-voiced in English with a clone of their voice and mixed back with the background sound [3]. Turn on Drop background audio to keep only the English voices.
