AI Melt Effect — your photo drips into a puddle
The viral melt effect: upload a photo, describe what softens and where the melt starts, and an AI video model drips the subject into a puddle while the rest of the frame holds. There's no one-click melt template on Kenerate — this page gives you the prompt that does it, with the real price per second.

Quick answer
How do you make the AI melt effect?
The AI melt effect is an image-to-video edit: upload a photo as the start frame, then prompt the model to soften and drip the subject while the background and the solid parts stay put. On Kenerate AI, open Video Studio, add your photo to Seedance 2.0 (36 credits a second at 480p) or Wan 3.0 (15 credits a second at 480p), and write the recipe: "the top of the subject softens and slowly drips downward like warm wax, forming a puddle at the bottom; the background and the rest of the frame stay exactly the same". Five seconds is enough for the drip, and the clip downloads without a watermark.

How to
How to make the AI melt effect
- Time needed
- Steps
- 4 steps
Step 1
Pick a clear photo
One recognisable subject with a clean edge against the background. A candle, an ice-cream cone, a face or a sandcastle all melt well; a busy crowd does not.
Step 2
Add it as the start frame
Open Video Studio, choose Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, and upload the photo. The video starts from exactly that image, so the "before" is your own picture.
Step 3
Write the melt
Name the part that softens, the direction and the speed: “the top softens and slowly drips downward like warm wax, forming a puddle at the base”.
Step 4
Name what stays solid
Add “background, frame, lighting and the rest of the subject stay exactly the same” — the effect reads when only the melting part moves.

Tips
Melt clips that look good
The difference between a drip that reads as melting and one that reads as a glitch.
Say the material: “warm wax”, “ice cream”, “chocolate”, “clay” — a named material gives the flow a believable speed.
Name the direction: downward, from the top, from one edge. Vague melting spreads everywhere at once.
Mark the line between solid and melting. The clearer the boundary, the cleaner the flow — the same advice the template guides give.
List what must not change — background, lighting, the parts that stay solid. Unnamed things are the first to drift.
One melting subject per clip. Two objects dripping at once is where the puddles start merging.
Keep it short. A 5-second drip reads as a joke; a 15-second one reads as a video that didn't finish.
FAQ
AI Melt Effect questions
9 questions
How do I make the AI melt effect?
Upload a clear photo to Video Studio as the start frame on Seedance 2.0 or Wan 3.0, then prompt the melt: “the top softens and slowly drips downward like warm wax, forming a puddle at the base; background and the rest of the frame stay exactly the same; still camera”. Render 5 seconds and download without a watermark.
Link to this answerDoes Kenerate have a one-click melt template?
No — and this page doesn't pretend otherwise. Pollo AI and Vidu sell the melt as a preset; on Kenerate it's an ordinary image-to-video render with the right prompt, which also means you choose what melts, where it starts and how fast. Copy a prompt from the cheat sheet and it opens in the studio pre-filled.
Link to this answerHow much does an AI melt video cost?
A 5-second draft on Wan 3.0 at 480p is 75 credits. The same clip on Seedance 2.0 is 180 credits at 480p or 360 at 720p; 8 seconds on Veo 3.1 Fast with sound is 360. The studio shows the exact price before you generate, and a one-time $15 pack is 1,300 credits.
Link to this answerWhich AI model is best for the melt effect?
Seedance 2.0 is the default: it starts from your exact photo and keeps the frame steady while the melt spreads. Wan 3.0 is the cheap draft lane at 15 credits a second at 480p. Pick Veo 3.1 Fast when you want the drip sound generated with the picture.
Link to this answerWhich photos melt best?
One clear subject with a clean edge against the background. Candles, ice cream, a face, a sandcastle or a product shot work well. Busy scenes with many small objects melt into a blur, and a photo with no clear subject gives the model nothing to pool.
Link to this answerCan I melt a photo of a person?
Only a photo of someone who agreed to it, or your own. Kenerate's terms ban deceptive impersonation and harassment, and the same photo rules apply here as anywhere. Keep it a visual joke or an art piece, not a clip meant to make someone look bad.
Link to this answerIs there a free AI melt effect generator?
Not on Kenerate: Video Studio needs a paid plan, and a new account's 25 starter credits don't cover a clip. Packs are one-time with no subscription — $15 buys 1,300 credits, about seventeen 5-second Wan 3.0 drafts at 480p or seven on Seedance 2.0.
Link to this answerWhy does the whole picture melt instead of just the subject?
The model wasn't told where to stop. Name the part that melts and list what stays solid — “background, frame, lighting and the rest of the subject stay exactly the same”. Keep the clip short; drift grows with every second.
Link to this answerCan I post melt videos on TikTok and YouTube Shorts?
Yes — render in 9:16 and the clip downloads without a watermark. TikTok, Reels and Shorts ask creators to label realistic AI-generated content, so tick their AI label.

AI Melt Effect, explained
On this page
What is the AI melt effect?
It's the viral image-to-video gag popularised by template sites: a still photo turns into a short clip where the subject softens and drips into a puddle, the way wax, ice cream or paint would. It gets used on objects, food, portraits and cartoon characters, and it works best when the melt is slow and the rest of the frame stays calm [1].
Kenerate has no one-click melt template. The effect is an ordinary image-to-video render: your photo is the start frame, and the prompt does what the template button does elsewhere — which also means you decide the material, the direction and how far it goes.
The melt prompt recipe
Four parts, in this order:
- The material and the trigger: “warm wax”, “ice cream”, “clay”, plus where the melt starts — the top, one edge, the base.
- The flow: direction and speed — “slowly drips downward, pooling at the base”.
- What stays solid: background, frame, lighting, the parts that must not melt. Unnamed things drift first.
- The camera: “still camera” keeps the melt readable; save the slow push-in for the final puddle.
Which model for the melt effect?
Pick by what the clip has to do:
- Holding one photo while the melt spreads — Seedance 2.0: starts from your exact photo, 4–15 seconds, 36 credits a second at 480p.
- Testing whether the drip looks right — Wan 3.0: 15 credits a second at 480p, so a 5-second draft is 75 credits.
- The drip and splash sound — Veo 3.1 Fast: sound generated with the picture, 45 credits a second.
- The polished final cut — Seedance 2.5: up to 4K, longer clips, 54 credits a second at 480p.
What the melt tools offer
From each vendor's own page or search summary, read on 30 October 2026 [1][2][3][4]:
- Pollo AI: upload an image, click Create, download. The page says the effect is free to try and describes a realistic dripping motion; it shows no per-clip price [1].
- Vidu: a melt-down generator — upload a photo, choose how many outputs, create and download; the page lists no prices or plans [2].
- Morphic: a text-to-video tool where you describe what melts, where the melt starts and what stays solid. Its guide says the clearer the line between solid and melted, the more convincing the flow [3].
- Kenerate: no template — the prompt recipe on this page, the credit price per second printed above, and the exact cost shown in the studio before every render.
Pick a photo that melts
Miraflow's melt-prompt guide makes the same point as the template sites: for this effect the starting photo matters more than for most AI video trends, so pick a clear, recognisable subject [4]. A single object with a clean edge gives the model a boundary to melt from; a cluttered scene gives it nothing to pool.
Label the clip as AI when you post — TikTok, Reels and Shorts all ask for that on realistic AI content — and keep a melted face or a real person's photo to people who agreed to it.
1. Candle in the window (Seedance 2.0)
The candle flame stays lit while the wax softens from the top and slowly drips down the sides, pooling on the saucer; the window, curtains and background stay exactly the same; still camera.
2. Ice-cream cone (Wan 3.0 draft)
The scoop softens and melts downward over the cone, dripping in slow streams; the cone, the hand and the sunny park behind stay unchanged; still camera.
3. Portrait into a puddle (Seedance 2.0)
Her hair softens and drips down her shoulders like warm wax, slowly pooling on the floor; face, expression, jacket and the grey studio backdrop stay exactly the same; still camera.
4. Chocolate bar (Wan 3.0 draft)
The chocolate bar softens from one corner and slowly melts into a glossy pool on the plate; the plate, lighting and table stay exactly the same; close-up, still camera.
5. Sandcastle at the tide (Seedance 2.0)
The sandcastle softens at its base and slides into a low wet puddle as the wave pulls back; the beach, sky and sea stay unchanged; still camera.
6. With a soft drip (Veo 3.1 Fast, sound on)
A candle softens and drips slowly down its sides; the flame flickers gently; audio: a soft drip and a faint sizzle, no music, no voice-over; the room stays exactly the same.
7. The slow melt (Seedance 2.0, 10 s)
The product bottle softens gradually from the top, its label warping and sliding down into a glossy pool; the surface, lighting and background stay exactly the same; slow push-in.
8. Cartoon character (Wan 3.0)
The cartoon character slowly drips into a puddle of paint, line style and white background unchanged; flat 2D animation look; still camera.
