Quick answer
How do you make an AI elf video?
An AI elf video generator turns a photo into a short video of an elf — usually you, in a Christmas elf costume, dancing. On Kenerate AI it takes two steps: first dress the photo as an elf in Image Studio (Qwen Image 3.0, 9 credits, works on the free plan), then make it dance: either Wan 3.0 animates the elf from a prompt (2–30 s, 15 credits a second at 480p), or Motion Transfer copies a real dance clip onto it (SteadyDancer, 10 s at 480p = 120 credits). Use photos of adults who agreed, or your pets — not children.

Step 1
Pick the photo
A clear, front-facing photo of yourself, an adult who said yes, or your pet. For a dance, full body with arms free works best; for a pet, the whole animal in frame.
Step 2
Dress it as an elf
In Image Studio, add the photo as a reference, pick Qwen Image 3.0 (free plan) or Nano Banana 2.1, and write the change: “Dress this person as a Christmas elf: green and red striped outfit, pointy hat with a bell, curled shoes. Keep the face, pose and background the same.”
Step 3
Choose how it dances
No dance video? Use Video Studio with Wan 3.0. Have a dance clip you like (yours, or one you're allowed to use)? Use Motion Transfer with SteadyDancer or Kenerate Motion.
Step 4
Make it dance from a prompt
In Video Studio pick Wan 3.0, add the elf image as the start frame and describe the moves: “The elf does a bouncy jig, arms swinging, bell on the hat jingling, snow falling.” 5–10 seconds at 480p is 75–150 credits.

Tips
Elf videos that look right
What keeps the face, the costume and the moves together.
Dress the photo first, then animate — the video keeps the costume from the start frame instead of inventing a new one each time.
Tell the image model what must stay: “keep the face, hair and background the same”.
For dances, use a full-body photo with the arms and feet visible; cropped legs come out wobbly.
Keep the elf and the dance clip in the same shape — a vertical dance clip with a vertical elf photo.
Keep ages, “kids”, “child” and similar words out of prompts — the content filter blocks them. Write “the elf” or “the person”.
Test short: a 5-second Wan 3.0 clip at 480p is 75 credits, a 5-second SteadyDancer block 60.
FAQ
AI Elf Video Generator questions
10 questions
How do I make an AI elf video?
Dress your photo as an elf in Image Studio (add the photo as a reference and ask for an elf outfit, keeping the face the same), then animate it. In Video Studio, Wan 3.0 makes the elf dance from a prompt; in Motion Transfer, SteadyDancer or Kenerate Motion copy the moves of a dance clip you upload. Download it with no watermark.
Link to this answerIs there a free AI elf video maker?
Partly. The elf costume step is free-plan friendly: Qwen Image 3.0 costs 9 credits and a new account gets 25. The dance itself costs more than that — a 10-second clip is 120–150 credits — and Video Studio needs a paid plan. Packs are one-time, from $15 for 1,300 credits, with no subscription.
Link to this answerCan I turn my dog or cat into a dancing elf?
Yes. Pets work well: dress the pet photo in an elf hat and collar in Image Studio, then animate it in Video Studio with Wan 3.0 — describe a little hop or a head bob rather than human dance steps. Motion Transfer is made for people, so pets are best done from a prompt.
Link to this answerCan I put my kids in an elf video?
No. Don't upload children's photos. Kenerate's content filter blocks prompts about children, and under US privacy law (COPPA) a photo or video containing a child's image counts as their personal information. Make the elf from yourself, another adult who agreed, or the family pet, and send the video to the kids instead.
Link to this answerCan I make a group elf dance with my friends?
Yes, with their permission. Make each friend's elf image from their own photo (Nano Banana 2.1 is good at keeping faces), then either animate a group photo with Wan 3.0 or make one clip per person and put them side by side in any video editor.
Link to this answerHow long can an elf video be?
Up to 30 seconds from a prompt with Wan 3.0, up to 15 seconds with Seedance 2.0, up to 20 seconds with Kenerate Motion and up to 2 minutes with SteadyDancer when you copy a dance clip. Most elf greetings work at 5–15 seconds.
Link to this answerHow much does an AI elf video cost?
About 129–159 credits for a 10-second elf dance: 9 credits for the elf image with Qwen Image 3.0, then 120 credits for SteadyDancer at 480p or 150 for Wan 3.0 at 480p. Kenerate Motion is 9 credits a second at 720p. The studio shows the exact price before you generate.
Link to this answerWhere do the dance moves come from?
Two places. With Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.0 you describe them in the prompt — “a bouncy jig, arms swinging”. With Motion Transfer you upload a dance video and the elf copies it; Kenerate has no dance presets, so use a clip you filmed or are allowed to use.
Link to this answerCan I add Christmas music or a voice?
Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 can make their own sound — jingling bells, a cheerful tune, one spoken line in quotes. Some motion engines keep the dance clip's audio. For a full song, make one with the AI Christmas song generator and lay it under the video.
Link to this answerCan I make a fantasy elf instead of a Christmas elf?
Yes. Describe the elf in Image Studio — an archer in a forest, a snow elf in silver armour — and animate it in Video Studio with Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.0. No photo is needed for a fictional character.

AI Elf Video Generator, explained
On this page
What is an AI elf video?
Most people mean a holiday elf dance: a photo of a person (or a pet) turned into a Christmas elf who dances for a few seconds. It's been a seasonal tradition online for years, and AI now does both parts — the costume and the dance — from a single photo.
A smaller group means fantasy elves: pointed ears, forests, bows and armour. That's a text-to-image character animated with a video model, and the same studios make it.
Prompt dance or copied dance?
Pick by whether you have a dance video:
- No clip — describe the moves and let Wan 3.0 animate the elf image: 2–30 seconds, 15 credits a second at 480p, sound on or off.
- A clip you like — Motion Transfer copies the exact moves onto the elf: SteadyDancer stays steady through spins and runs up to 2 minutes; Kenerate Motion is the cheapest at 1080p.
- A line of dialogue — Seedance 2.0 makes the elf speak one line in quotes along with the moves.
- A still for a card — stop after the elf costume and use the AI Christmas card generator.
Whose photo to use
Use your own photo, a photo of an adult who said yes, or your pet. Some elf apps suggest coworkers or celebrities; don't upload anyone's face without asking, and never a public figure's.
Don't upload children's photos. Kenerate's content filter blocks prompts about children, and the US Federal Trade Commission's COPPA guidance treats a photo or video of a child as that child's personal information. Make the elf yourself and let the kids watch.
What other AI elf video tools offer
From each vendor's own page, read on 21 October 2026:
- Media.io's elf video page: upload an image, set length and resolution (5 seconds at 480p shown), generate; it names Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 and gives no free credit amount.
- Fotor's elf dance page: preset elf templates, upload a face photo, generate; it says files are deleted within 24 hours and names no model or clip length.
- Kenerate: no fixed templates — your own costume and your own moves — clip lengths from 2 seconds to 2 minutes, and a credit price shown before every render.
1. You as an elf (Image Studio, your photo as reference)
Dress this person as a Christmas elf: green velvet tunic with red and white striped sleeves, red and white striped tights, a pointy green hat with a gold bell, curled felt shoes. Keep the face, hair, body and pose exactly the same. Background: a cosy living room with a decorated Christmas tree and warm fairy lights. Full body, 9:16.
2. Your dog as an elf (Image Studio, pet photo as reference)
Put a small green elf hat with a jingle bell and a red and white striped scarf on this dog. Keep the dog's face, fur and pose the same. Snowy porch with a wreath on the door, soft evening light.
3. The elf jig (Wan 3.0)
The elf does a bouncy jig in front of the Christmas tree, knees up, arms swinging, then spins once and finishes with jazz hands, the bell on the hat jingling. Light snow falls outside the window. Static camera, full body in frame, cheerful jingle-bell music.
4. Dancing dog elf (Wan 3.0)
The dog in the elf hat hops from paw to paw and wags its tail, the hat's bell bouncing, snowflakes drifting down. Static camera, the whole dog in frame, playful sleigh-bell sound.
5. Elf with a line (Seedance 2.0)
The elf waves at the camera, does two quick side steps and says brightly: "Merry Christmas from the North Pole workshop!" Warm fairy lights, gentle bells, steady camera.
6. Fantasy snow elf (Image Studio, no photo)
A snow elf ranger with silver hair and pointed ears, in a white and pale blue cloak, standing on a frozen mountain pass at dawn, bow on her back, breath visible in the cold air, cinematic light, 16:9.
