It depends on the style. In our tests Recraft V4.1 gave the cleanest black outlines for coloring, Seedream 5.0 Pro the richest colour and finest ornament, and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst a convincing hand-painted dot mandala. Qwen Image 3.0 made a good tattoo stencil on the free plan, though a few outer lines came out uneven.

Ask for “a dot mandala made only of round paint dots of different sizes in concentric rings”, name three or four colours and the surface, for example “on a black painted stone, top-down view”. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst drew ours as a painted stone with teal, coral, yellow and white dots in clean rings — a useful pattern guide if you paint dot mandalas by hand.

Our gold-on-emerald print came out as fine spirograph-style rings around a lotus; it also added a patch of foil glare, so regenerate or ask for “flat gold, no reflections” if you want a clean print file.

You can use it as a starting stencil. Ask for “fine-line blackwork, dotwork shading, on plain white paper, stencil-ready”. Take it to your tattoo artist to clean up the lines and size it for your skin — our Qwen Image 3.0 stencil had a few uneven outer lines an artist would tidy. Close, not mathematically exact. Image models draw mandalas by eye, so small differences between petals can appear, especially in the outer ring. Saying “perfect radial symmetry” and giving a petal count helps. For exact geometry, use the AI result as a reference and trace it in a vector app.

Downloads carry no watermark. Under Kenerate's terms you are responsible for how you use what you generate, so check the terms and each model's licence, and the rules of the shop you sell on — some print-on-demand shops ask sellers to say a design was made with AI. Traditional mandala motifs are free to use; don't copy another artist's specific design.
