Quick answer
What is a clear skin filter?
A clear skin filter is a photo edit that removes acne, pimples, blemishes and redness from a face and leaves everything else as it was. Kenerate AI opens its image editor with a clear-skin instruction already written: upload your photo, press Create and download the result without a watermark. The instruction asks the model to keep pores, freckles and your skin tone, so the skin looks clearer rather than airbrushed. It edits the photo only; it doesn't treat skin.

Tips
Get clear skin that still looks real
The goal is your skin on a good day, not a smoothing blur.
Use a sharp, well-lit photo where the face fills a good part of the frame.
Keep “natural skin texture, pores and freckles” in the prompt; delete it only if you want a soft beauty look.
Say what to leave alone: “keep the mole on the left cheek” or “keep the beard stubble”.
For lighter work, ask for less: “reduce redness and the two spots on the chin only”.
Check the eyebrows, lips and hairline at full size; run it again if an edge looks smudged.

FAQ
Clear Skin Filter questions
9 questions
How do I remove acne from a photo?
Upload the photo to the clear skin filter and press Create. Kenerate AI opens the image editor with an instruction that removes acne, pimples, blemishes and redness and keeps the face, skin tone, hair and background the same. Download the result, or edit the instruction and run it again for a lighter or stronger clean-up.
Link to this answerIs the clear skin filter free?
Yes, to start. A new Kenerate account gets free starter credits, which work on free-plan models such as Qwen Image 3.0, the default here. Seedream 5.0 Pro and Nano Banana 2.1 need a one-time credit pack rather than a subscription, and credits you buy never expire. Results download without a watermark.
Link to this answerWill it make my skin look fake or plastic?
It shouldn't, because the instruction asks the model to keep skin texture, pores and freckles. Over-smoothing happens when a tool blurs the whole face. If a result still looks too soft, add “keep visible pores and fine texture” or ask only for “reduce redness and remove the spots”.
Link to this answerDoes it change my skin tone?
No. The preset says “the same skin tone”, so only blemishes and redness go. If a run lightens or darkens your skin, run it again. To change a skin tone on purpose, for a character or artwork, use the separate AI skin color changer.
Link to this answerCan I remove just one pimple?
Yes. Write the spot in the prompt, such as “remove only the pimple on the chin”. For pixel-precise control, the Edit studio has Z-Image Turbo Inpaint: brush over the spot and only the masked area is repainted.
Link to this answerIs it a skin smoothing filter or a blemish remover?
Both, depending on the words. The default removes acne, spots and redness and keeps texture, which is what a blemish remover does. Add “soften the skin slightly” for a light skin smoothing filter look, or remove the line about pores for a soft beauty finish.
Link to this answerDoes it work on videos?
No, this filter edits photos. It works on selfies, portraits, profile pictures and headshots in JPG, PNG or WebP.
Link to this answerDoes it treat acne?
No. It edits the photo, not your skin. For acne treatment, talk to a dermatologist or a pharmacist; the American Academy of Dermatology has a guide to acne treatments.
Link to this answerCan I edit someone else's photo?
Only with their permission. A retouch still changes a real person's likeness: use your own photo or one the person agreed to, don't pass an edited photo off as unretouched where that matters (such as ID photos), and never upload a photo of a minor. Kenerate's content rules apply to every edit.

Clear Skin Filter, explained
What works, what to avoid, and how to pick a model.
On this page
How the clear skin filter works
The clear skin filter is an instruction edit. Your photo and one sentence go to an image model's edit endpoint; the model finds acne, spots and red patches and repaints them with skin that matches the area around them, keeping the texture, shadows and lighting so the face still reads as the same photo.
Clear skin, skin smoothing or spot fix
Pick the edit by what you want gone:
- Clear skin (the default): acne, pimples, blemishes and redness removed, texture kept.
- Skin smoothing: add “soften the skin slightly” for an even, softer finish.
- Spot fix: name one blemish in the prompt, or brush-mask it with Z-Image Turbo Inpaint in the Edit studio.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't treat skin and it doesn't edit video. It also shouldn't change your face shape, eyes or skin tone; if a run does, run it again or add “do not change anything else”. Keep freckles, moles and scars you want in the photo by naming them.
