Christmas PFP Generator — your photo as a festive profile picture
Upload a head-and-shoulders photo and an AI edit turns it into a square Christmas profile picture — a Santa hat, falling snow and fairy lights, or an anime or cartoon version of you. Or describe an original character and make an anime Christmas PFP from text. Run the same prompt twice for a matching pair.

Quick answer
How do I make a Christmas PFP?
To make a Christmas PFP, upload a clear head-and-shoulders photo to an AI image editor, describe the festive look — a Santa hat, falling snow and fairy lights, an anime or cartoon version of you — and keep the picture square (1:1) with your face in the middle, so a circle crop doesn't cut it off. Kenerate's Christmas PFP generator opens Image Studio with that instruction filled in; Qwen Image 3.0 runs it on the free plan for 9.9 credits per photo edit, or 9 from a text prompt. For matching Christmas PFPs, run the same prompt on two photos — one per person — and change only the way each of you faces. It's for grown-ups and pets: the prompt filter blocks words about children.

Christmas PFP ideas: which style, and the words that get it
Paste the prompt words into the editor after your photo is added, keep the size on Square 1:1, and end with what must stay the same — “keep my face, hair and expression exactly the same”.
| Christmas PFP | What you upload | Prompt words | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Santa hat | A photo of you | Add a red Santa hat with white fur trim to my head, plain deep-red background, soft studio light, head and shoulders, centred | A plain background reads best at the small size a PFP is shown at |
| Snow and lights | A photo of you | Put me outdoors at night in gently falling snow, warm string lights blurred into bokeh behind me, red knit scarf, cold rosy cheeks | Ask for the lights “blurred” so your face stays the sharpest thing in the frame |
| Anime Christmas PFP | A photo of you | Redraw me as a 2D anime character in a cosy red knit sweater and Santa hat, big soft snowflakes, pastel night sky, clean line art, cel shading | Add “keep my hairstyle and hair colour” — that's what makes the anime version still look like you |
| Cartoon / 3D PFP | A photo of you | Turn me into a 3D animated-film character holding a mug of hot cocoa, a glowing Christmas tree behind me, soft toy-like lighting | Name the look you want — “3D animated film”, “flat vector cartoon”, “claymation” |
| Anime PFP from text | Nothing — text only | Original anime character, an adult woman with silver hair in a red winter coat and white earmuffs, holding a wrapped present, snowy rooftop at night, square portrait | Text-only runs as text-to-image (9 credits on Qwen Image 3.0). Say “adult” and leave ages out |
| Matching pair — friends | Two photos, one edit each | Same prompt for both: Santa hat, snowy night, fairy-light bokeh, me holding one half of a candy cane — then “facing right” on one, “facing left” on the other | Change only the direction and one colour (red vs green scarf) so the two read as a set side by side |
| Matching pair — couple | Two photos, one edit each | Same prompt for both: cosy cabin window, falling snow, me holding one half of a heart-shaped red ornament, warm lamp light | Mirror the pose so the two halves of the ornament meet when the PFPs sit next to each other |
| Pet Christmas PFP | A photo of your dog or cat | My dog in a small red Santa hat and a plaid scarf, head and shoulders, plain dark-green background, soft light | Name the breed and markings, and leave the pet's age out of the prompt |
| Elf or ugly-sweater PFP | A photo of you | Give me pointed elf ears and a green elf hat with a gold bell — or — dress me in a tacky Christmas sweater with reindeer and pom-poms | Want a whole sweater design? Use the ugly Christmas sweater generator |

Tips
Make a Christmas PFP that still reads at thumbnail size
A profile picture is shown small and often round — design for that, not for a full-screen photo.
Start from a sharp, front-facing head-and-shoulders photo with even light. A full-body shot turns into a tiny face once it's cropped.
Keep the size on Square 1:1 and ask for “centred, head and shoulders”, so a circle crop on Discord or elsewhere doesn't cut off your hat or chin.
One festive idea per PFP: a hat and snow, or lights and a sweater. Five props at once turn into clutter at small size.
Ask for a plain or blurred background and strong red-green or red-white contrast — it's what makes the PFP readable in a member list.
Leave text out of the PFP. Put “Merry Christmas” in your bio or banner instead; small text in an avatar is unreadable.
The prompt filter blocks child words and ages under 18 — including “baby blue” and “minor changes”. Write “pale blue”, “small changes” and “family-friendly” instead.

Christmas PFP Generator questions
10 questions
How do I make a Christmas PFP?
Upload a clear head-and-shoulders photo and press Create. Image Studio opens with an instruction already filled in — a red Santa hat, falling snow and blurred fairy lights, your face, hair and expression kept the same, everything centred for a circle crop — and the size set to Square 1:1. Swap in the words from the ideas table for an anime, cartoon, elf or ugly-sweater PFP, or skip the photo and describe an original character.
Link to this answerIs the Christmas PFP generator free?
Free to start. Sign in with Google, GitHub or Discord — no card — and a new account gets 25 credits. Qwen Image 3.0, the default here, is on the free plan: a PFP from your photo costs 9.9 credits and one from text costs 9, so the starter credits cover two PFPs — one matching pair. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, Nano Banana 2.1 and Seedream 5.0 Pro use credits from one-time packs; the Starter pack is $15 for 1,300 credits, with no subscription.
Link to this answerHow do I make matching Christmas PFPs?
Make them as two separate edits with the same prompt — one photo per person. Keep everything identical (hat, snow, lights, colours) and change only the direction each person faces, plus one detail such as a red scarf on one and a green scarf on the other. Split one object between you — two halves of a candy cane or a heart-shaped ornament — so the PFPs complete each other side by side. On Qwen Image 3.0 a pair costs 19.8 credits. Only use a friend's or partner's photo if they agreed.
Link to this answerCan I make a Christmas anime PFP?
Yes, two ways. From your photo: “redraw me as a 2D anime character in a red knit sweater and Santa hat, falling snow, clean line art; keep my hairstyle and hair colour” — Seedream 5.0 Pro is strong at illustrated looks. From text: describe an original character — hair, outfit, setting — and say “adult”; leave ages out, as the filter stops any age under 18.
Link to this answerWhat size should a Christmas PFP be?
Make it square. Discord's design team suggests about 200 × 200 px at minimum and a file under 10 MB, and it crops the square to a circle. X's help centre recommends 400 × 400 px and a JPEG, GIF or PNG under 2 MB. We couldn't find a pixel size on Instagram's or TikTok's own help pages, so upload the full square and check the crop preview in the app. Kenerate makes a 1:1 image at 1K or larger, which covers both published sizes — shrink the file if X says it's over 2 MB.
Link to this answerCan I make a Christmas PFP of my kids or my family?
Adults and pets only. Kenerate's prompt filter blocks words such as child, kid, baby, toddler and teen, and any age under 18, and we ask you not to upload children's photos at all — under the US COPPA rule a photo containing a child's image is that child's personal information. The word “family” itself isn't blocked, so a family PFP of adults who agreed works: “the three of us adults in matching red sweaters”.
Link to this answerWhy was my Christmas PFP prompt blocked?
Almost always a child word or an age. The filter also catches everyday phrases: “baby blue” (write “pale blue” or “ice blue”), “minor changes” (write “small changes”), “kid-friendly” (write “family-friendly”) and numbers before “years”, like “3 years old” for a pet. Remove the word and run it again.
Link to this answerCan my Christmas PFP be animated?
Not on this page — it makes still images. Animated avatars on Discord are a Nitro feature, and Kenerate's Image Studio doesn't make animated GIFs. A still PFP with strong colour and a clear face is what reads best at small size anyway.
Link to this answerCan I make a Christmas PFP of my dog or cat?
Yes. Upload the pet photo and write “my dog in a small red Santa hat and plaid scarf, head and shoulders, plain dark-green background; keep the same dog, fur colour and markings”. Name the breed and markings, and leave the age out: “3 years old” trips the filter.

Christmas PFP Generator, explained
What works, what to avoid, and how to pick a model.
On this page
What makes a good Christmas PFP?
A profile picture is seen small, next to your name, and often cropped to a circle. What works on a full-screen Christmas photo — a whole living room, a tree, a fireplace and five people — turns to clutter at that size.
So a Christmas PFP is one face (or one pet), centred, with one festive idea and a simple background: a Santa hat on a red backdrop, your face in falling snow with blurred lights, an anime version of you in a knit sweater. The edit keeps your face and changes everything around it.
What size is a Christmas PFP on Discord, X, Instagram and TikTok?
Every platform takes a square. The numbers the platforms publish themselves:
- Discord: a square photo, about 200 × 200 px at minimum and under 10 MB, cropped to a circle when it's shown (Discord blog).
- X: ideally 400 × 400 px, a JPEG, GIF or PNG under 2 MB (X Help Center).
- Instagram and TikTok: we found no pixel size on their own help pages — only third-party guides that disagree with each other — so upload the full square and check the crop preview before you save.
- Kenerate: Square 1:1 is the default size on all four models here, at 1K or larger, so one image fits every platform above.
How do matching Christmas PFPs work?
A matching pair is two profile pictures that belong together when they sit side by side — in a group chat, a server member list or two profiles. You make them as two separate edits:
- Write one prompt and use it for both photos — same hat, same snow, same lights, same colours.
- Change only the direction: “facing right” on one, “facing left” on the other, so you look toward each other.
- Split one object between you: two halves of a candy cane or of a heart-shaped ornament. Keep it to a shape — words are too small to read in a PFP.
- Give each PFP one colour of its own (a red scarf and a green scarf) so people can tell them apart.
- Use only the photos of friends or partners who said yes, and make the pair from adults' photos.
Christmas PFP, Christmas photo or Discord PFP — what's the difference?
A Christmas PFP is a small square avatar built to read at thumbnail size. A Christmas photo is a full picture — a portrait by the tree, a card photo, a market scene — made on the AI Christmas photo generator, and a Santa photo puts Santa Claus in the picture with you.
The AI profile picture generator makes PFPs all year in any style, and the Discord PFP maker covers Discord's own rules — circle crop, banners, server icons and what Nitro adds.
