Quick answer
How do I make an AI photo with Santa?
To make an AI photo with Santa, upload a clear photo of yourself to an AI image editor and describe Santa and where he stands — for example "add Santa Claus in a red suit beside me in front of a lit tree; keep my face the same". Kenerate's AI Santa photo generator opens the editor with that instruction filled in, so you add your photo and press Create. Swap the words for a couple with Santa, a pet on Santa's lap, a vintage store-Santa look or you dressed as Santa. Qwen Image 3.0 does it on the free plan at 9.9 credits per edit. It's for grown-ups and pets: the prompt filter blocks words about children, so don't upload children's photos.

What kind of Santa photo can I make? Ideas and the words that get them
Copy the prompt words into the editor after your photo is added, and always end with what must stay the same — “keep my face, hair, expression and pose exactly the same”.
| Santa photo | What you upload | Prompt words | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standing beside Santa | A photo of you | Santa Claus in a red suit with white fur trim standing beside me, lit Christmas tree and presents behind us | Say “match the light on Santa to the light on me” so he doesn't look pasted in |
| Couple with Santa | One photo of you both, or two photos | Santa standing between the two of us, a hand on each of our shoulders, cosy living room with a fireplace | Two separate photos? Add both and say “put these two people side by side” |
| Pet on Santa's lap | A photo of your dog or cat | Santa sitting in a big red armchair holding my dog on his lap, stockings on the fireplace behind | Name the breed and markings, and leave the pet's age out of the prompt |
| Vintage store-Santa photo | A photo of you | 1970s department-store Santa photo, Santa on a gold throne beside me, red velvet backdrop, film grain, faded colours | Add “square print with a white border” for the old instant-photo look |
| Make me Santa | A photo of you | Dress me as Santa Claus: red suit with white fur trim, Santa hat, black belt and boots, add a full white beard | Drop “add a beard” to keep your own face clean-shaven |
| Mrs. Claus | A photo of you | Dress me as Mrs. Claus: red velvet dress with white fur trim, white apron, small round glasses, North Pole kitchen with cookies | Keep “same face and hair colour” unless you want the grey hair too |
| Caught Santa on camera | A photo of your living room, no people | Add Santa Claus placing presents under the tree, seen from behind, grainy night-camera frame with a timestamp in the corner | Fun for a family joke — label it as AI if you post it |
| Santa with your sleigh team | A photo of you | Me standing in the snow beside Santa's sleigh with reindeer, starry night, warm lantern light | Want reindeer antlers on you instead? See the reindeer generator |
| Santa portrait, no upload | Nothing — text only | Portrait of a jolly Santa Claus with rosy cheeks and round gold glasses reading a long list by candlelight, oil painting | Without a photo the same prompt runs as text-to-image (9 credits on Qwen Image 3.0) |

Tips
Get a Santa photo that looks taken, not pasted
What makes Santa look like he was really in the room with you.
Use a sharp photo where you're facing the camera with room beside you — a waist-up shot leaves space for Santa.
Say where Santa stands (“beside me”, “between us”, “in the armchair”) and how big he is next to you.
Ask the model to “match the light on Santa to the light on me” — a mismatched light direction is what gives a fake away.
Describe your Santa: suit colour, fur trim, beard length, glasses, a red or a blue velvet suit. The model fills gaps with a generic Santa.
For pets, name the breed, fur colour and markings and add “keep the same dog”. Leave its age out: the filter reads “3 years old” as an age under 18 and stops the prompt.
Keep the ending “keep my face, hair, expression, clothing and pose exactly the same”, and run it again if your face changes.

AI Santa Photo Generator questions
10 questions
How do I make an AI photo with Santa?
Upload a clear photo of yourself and press Create. Image Studio opens with an instruction already filled in — Santa in a red suit standing beside you in front of a lit Christmas tree, with the light matched and your face, hair, clothing and pose kept the same — and the model adds Santa to your picture. Swap the words from the ideas table for a couple, a pet on Santa's lap, a vintage store-Santa photo or you dressed as Santa.
Link to this answerIs the AI Santa photo generator free?
Free to start. A new Kenerate account gets 25 credits on sign-up, and Qwen Image 3.0, the default model here, is on the free plan; an edit with one photo costs 9.9 credits, so the starter credits cover two tries. GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst (11.7 credits with one photo), Nano Banana 2.1 and Seedream 5.0 Pro use credits from one-time packs — the Starter pack is $15 for 1,300 credits, with no subscription. Downloads carry no watermark.
Link to this answerCan I make a Santa photo of my kids?
No — this tool is for grown-ups and pets. Kenerate's prompt filter blocks words such as child, kid, baby, toddler and teen, and ages under 18, so a prompt like “my 6-year-old with Santa” won't run, and we ask you not to upload children's photos at all. Under the US COPPA rule, a photo containing a child's image counts as that child's personal information. If you want something for the children in your family, make a Santa portrait from text or a talking Santa video and show it to them.
Link to this answerCan I make a Santa photo with my partner or friends?
Yes, if they agree. Upload one photo of you together, or two separate photos (Qwen Image 3.0 takes up to 3; two photos cost 10.8 credits) and write “put these two people side by side with Santa between them, keep both faces the same”. Only use photos of adults who said yes, and ask before you post the result.
Link to this answerCan AI turn me into Santa?
Yes. Upload your photo and swap the prompt for “dress me as Santa Claus: red suit with white fur trim, Santa hat, black belt, add a full white beard; keep my face and expression the same”. Leave out the beard to keep your own face, or ask for Mrs. Claus with a red velvet dress and apron. To make your Santa move and talk, take the picture to the AI Santa video generator.
Link to this answerCan I put my dog or cat in a photo with Santa?
Yes — pets are a great fit. Upload the pet photo and write “Santa sitting in an armchair holding my golden retriever on his lap; keep the same dog, fur colour, markings and face”. Name the breed and markings, but leave the pet's age out: the filter treats “3 years old” as an age under 18 and stops the prompt.
Link to this answerHow do I make a “caught Santa on camera” photo?
Upload a photo of your own living room or tree with no people in it and write “add Santa Claus placing presents under the tree, seen from behind, grainy night-camera frame with a timestamp in the corner”. It's a family joke, not evidence — if you post it, say it's made with AI.
Link to this answerWhy does Santa look pasted on, and how do I fix it?
Usually the light or the scale is off. Add “match the light on Santa to the light on me”, say where he stands and how tall he is next to you, and use a photo with space beside you. If your face changes, add “do not retouch my face” and run it again, or try GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, which kept the face in all four edits on our Christmas photo page.
Link to this answerWhy does Santa wear a red suit with white fur?
That look settled long before AI. Coca-Cola says it did not create the legend of Santa Claus, but in 1931 it commissioned illustrator Haddon Sundblom to paint Santa for its ads, drawing on Clement Clark Moore's 1822 poem — the rosy-cheeked, white-bearded Santa most image models now draw by default. Ask for a green robe, a blue velvet suit or a Victorian Father Christmas to step away from it.
Link to this answerCan I use my Santa photo on a Christmas card?
Yes. Make the photo here, then add the greeting: GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst writes the words you put in quotes, e.g. add “Merry Christmas from the two of us” in cream script across the top. For a full card layout and print sizes, use the AI Christmas card generator.

AI Santa Photo Generator, explained
What works, what to avoid, and how to pick a model.
On this page
How does an AI Santa photo work?
It's an instruction edit, not a cut-out pasted on top. Your photo and one sentence go to an image model's edit endpoint; the model draws Santa into the scene at the size and angle you describe, matches the light and adds the set — a tree, a fireplace, a store-Santa throne — while the rest of the picture stays as it was.
Add a second photo and the model can put two people who were photographed apart into one picture. It works from pictures only: if a face changes, say what must stay and run it again.
Who can be in an AI Santa photo?
Kenerate's Santa photos are for grown-ups and pets:
- You: any clear photo of yourself.
- Other adults: only with their agreement — and ask again before you post the result.
- Pets: dogs, cats, rabbits, horses. Name the breed and markings; leave out the pet's age.
- Not children. The prompt filter blocks child words and ages under 18, and we ask you not to upload children's photos. The FTC's COPPA guidance counts a photo containing a child's image as that child's personal information.
- Not public figures or anyone who didn't agree. Kenerate's terms apply to every edit.
How do I write a Santa photo prompt?
Five parts are enough:
- Santa: “classic red suit with white fur trim, full white beard, round gold glasses” — or a green Father Christmas robe.
- Where he is: “standing beside me”, “between the two of us”, “in the armchair holding my dog”.
- The set: “lit Christmas tree and presents”, “fireplace with stockings”, “1970s store-Santa throne with a red velvet backdrop”.
- The light: “warm fairy-light glow, match the light on Santa to the light on me”.
- What must not change: “keep my face, hair, expression, clothing, pose and size exactly the same”.
Santa photo or Santa video — which do I need?
A photo is one still picture with Santa in it: quick, 9.9 credits on the default model, good for a card, a profile picture or a group chat. A video is Santa moving and saying the lines you wrote — that needs a paid plan and is priced per second.
You can chain them: make the Santa photo here, then use it as the start frame in the AI Santa video generator.
