ComfyUI Alternative
ComfyUI is free, open-source node software you run on your own GPU. If the install, the drivers or the node graphs are what you want to skip, there are three kinds of alternative: hosted ComfyUI, a simpler local UI, or an online studio like Kenerate that runs the same open models from a text box.

Quick answer
What is the best ComfyUI alternative?
The best ComfyUI alternative depends on what you want to drop. Keep the nodes but lose the GPU: Comfy Cloud, the official hosted ComfyUI (from $20 a month). Keep it local but simpler: Forge or InvokeAI. Drop installs and node graphs entirely: Kenerate AI runs Flux 2, Qwen Image, Z-Image, HiDream and Wan in the browser with one-time credits that never expire. ComfyUI itself stays free and the most flexible.

Honest verdict
Kenerate or ComfyUI: which should you pick?
ComfyUI is a good product. Here is when each one is the better choice.
Pick Kenerate if…
- Nothing to install
- The same open models
- No GPU needed
- Credits that don't expire
When to pick ComfyUI
- You want it free and on your own hardware — ComfyUI costs nothing if you already own a good GPU.
- You build multi-step graphs: ControlNet, IP-Adapter, upscale chains, batch jobs you save as a workflow file.
- You load your own checkpoints, LoRAs or custom nodes — Kenerate only runs the models it hosts.
- You need to work offline, or keep every file on your own machine.
Why people switch
Why try Kenerate instead of ComfyUI
Nothing to install
No Python, CUDA drivers, model downloads or missing-node errors. Open the browser and generate.
The same open models
Flux 2 Dev and Klein, Qwen Image, Z Image, HiDream I1 and Hunyuan Image 3 are in the picker, next to closed models like GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1.
No GPU needed
It runs on our side, so an old laptop or a phone is enough — and your own GPU stays free for other work.
Credits that don't expire
One-time packs, no monthly plan and no runtime cap per workflow. Starter credits and free-plan Flux 2 and Qwen Image models to try it.

Step 1
Sign in free
One click with Google, GitHub or Discord — starter credits are added, nothing to install.
Step 2
Pick the model from your workflow
Flux 2 Dev, Qwen Image, Z Image or HiDream for images; Wan or LTX for video (paid pack).
Step 3
Paste your positive prompt
Prompts carry over. Add a reference image in place of an image-load node to keep a character or product.
Step 4
Edit and download
Use Edit Studio for inpaint-style fixes and upscaling, then download without a watermark.

ComfyUI alternative questions
8 questions
What is the best ComfyUI alternative?
It depends on what you want to drop. To keep node graphs without a GPU, use Comfy Cloud, ComfyUI's official hosted version. To stay local with a simpler interface, try Forge or InvokeAI. To skip installs and nodes entirely, an online studio like Kenerate runs the same open models — Flux 2, Qwen Image, Z Image, HiDream — from a prompt box.
Link to this answerIs there a ComfyUI alternative that needs no GPU?
Yes. Comfy Cloud runs ComfyUI on Comfy's own RTX 6000 Pro GPUs for a monthly plan. Kenerate runs everything on its side too, with no node graph and no plan — you pay with one-time credit packs, and new accounts get starter credits.
Link to this answerIs ComfyUI free?
Yes. ComfyUI is open-source software under the GPL-3.0 licence and costs nothing to run on your own computer. What you pay for is the hardware: a capable GPU, and the time to install models and custom nodes. Comfy Cloud, the hosted version, is the paid option.
Link to this answerIs Forge or InvokeAI easier than ComfyUI?
For most beginners, yes. Forge keeps the AUTOMATIC1111 tab layout — prompt, settings, generate — and runs Flux in NF4 or GGUF formats. InvokeAI adds a painting canvas for in- and outpainting, with optional node workflows. Both are free, but both still need your own GPU and a local install.
Link to this answerCan I use my ComfyUI workflows on Kenerate?
Not as workflow files — Kenerate has no node graph. You can carry over the parts that matter most: pick the same model, paste your positive prompt, and add reference images where your graph loaded an image. Inpainting, relighting and upscaling are separate Edit Studio tools.
Link to this answerDoes Kenerate run the same models as ComfyUI?
Many of the same open families: Flux 2 Dev and Klein, Flux Dev and Schnell, Qwen Image, Z Image Base, HiDream I1 and Hunyuan Image 3 for images, and Wan 2.2, Wan 3.0 and LTX 2.3 for video. It also has closed models ComfyUI only reaches through paid API nodes, such as GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana 2.1.
Link to this answerCan I load my own LoRAs or checkpoints on Kenerate?
No. Kenerate runs a curated set of 80+ hosted image models; you can't upload a checkpoint or add custom nodes. If your work depends on a specific LoRA or a community checkpoint, ComfyUI, Forge or InvokeAI on your own GPU — or Comfy Cloud's Creator plan, which imports models and LoRAs — is the better fit.
Link to this answerIs Kenerate free?
Free to start: new accounts get starter credits, and Flux 2 Dev, Flux 2 Klein, Qwen Image 2.0 and Qwen Image 3.0 are on the free plan. More credits come in one-time packs from $15 for 1,300 credits that never expire. Video needs a paid pack.

ComfyUI vs Kenerate, in depth
How we compared, and what matters when you choose.

Three kinds of ComfyUI alternative
Most lists mix three different things. Knowing which one you want saves a lot of trial and error:
- Hosted ComfyUI — the same nodes on someone else's GPU. Comfy Cloud is the official one; RunComfy and ThinkDiffusion are third-party.
- A different local UI — Forge (AUTOMATIC1111 style) or InvokeAI (canvas plus nodes). Free, simpler, still your GPU.
- An online studio — no nodes and no install. You choose a model, write a prompt and edit the result. Kenerate is one of these.
What ComfyUI still does best
ComfyUI is the most flexible of the lot: any checkpoint, any LoRA, any community node, chained into a graph you can save and share as a file. It runs offline, it is free, and its README lists support for NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and Apple Silicon GPUs.
If that flexibility is the reason you use it, a no-node studio will feel limiting. Keep ComfyUI for those workflows and use an online studio for quick drafts or for closed models you don't have locally.
What you give up on Kenerate
Be honest about the trade:
- No node graph, no custom nodes, no workflow files.
- No uploading your own checkpoints or LoRAs — only the 80+ hosted image models.
- No offline use; everything runs on our servers.
- Credits cost money once the starter credits are used, where local ComfyUI is free.
Moving a workflow over
Map each part of your graph to a setting: the checkpoint node becomes the model picker, the positive prompt goes in the prompt box, a Load Image node becomes a reference image, and inpaint or upscale branches become Edit Studio tools (Change Region, Magic Eraser, Upscale). Negative prompts and samplers have no direct equivalent — describe what you want instead.
