What is Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's audio-video model, released in February 2026, that makes 4–15 second clips with sound from text, a start image, or a mix of up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips. On Kenerate AI it runs as Seedance 2.0 (72 credits a second at 720p), Seedance 2 Fast (60) and Seedance 2.0 Mini (36), from 480p to 4K, so a 5-second 720p clip costs 360, 300 or 180 credits. From our tests

Strengths and limits

Good at

  • Real multi-reference control: mix up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips in one prompt to fix a character, a camera move and a soundtrack at once.
  • Sound in the same render — effects, ambience and spoken lines — and on Kenerate sound costs nothing extra.
  • Three price points from one model family: draft on Mini at 18 credits a second (480p), finish on Seedance 2.0.
  • More than generation: edit an existing clip or extend it with new seconds, in the same studio.

Limits

  • No real Seedance 2.0 clips on this page yet — we only show a model's own outputs, so run a short Mini test first.
  • Not on Kenerate's free plan: video needs any one-time credit pack (from $15 for 1,300 credits).
  • Clips stop at 15 seconds; for up to 30 seconds per clip use Seedance 2.5.
  • Reference clips are billed too: with a clip attached you pay for its seconds plus the output seconds, at a lower reference rate (45 credits a second on Seedance 2.0 at 720p).

What is Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's AI video model, built by its Seed team and released in early February 2026. How much does Seedance 2.0 cost on Kenerate?

It's billed per second of output. Seedance 2.0 costs 36, 72, 180 or 360 credits a second at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K. Seedance 2 Fast is 30 / 60 / 150 / 300 and Seedance 2.0 Mini is 18 / 36 / 90 / 180. A 5-second 720p clip is 360 credits on 2.0, 300 on Fast and 180 on Mini. Not on Kenerate's free plan — video needs any one-time credit pack, with no subscription. New accounts get 25 starter credits for images. The cheapest Seedance 2.0 clip is a 4-second Mini clip at 480p for 72 credits. See our Seedance 2.0 free guide for the other routes.

Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 2 Fast vs 2.0 Mini — which should I use?

All three take the same inputs, lengths, resolutions and references. Seedance 2.0 gives the best motion and detail, Fast is ByteDance's lower-latency version at about 17% less, and Mini costs half of 2.0. Draft prompts on Mini at 480p, then re-run the one you like on Seedance 2.0.

How long can Seedance 2.0 videos be?

4 to 15 seconds per clip, in whole seconds. To go longer, extend a clip with new seconds in the studio, or switch to Seedance 2.5, which makes up to 30 seconds per clip.

What resolution does Seedance 2.0 output?

ByteDance's paper lists native 480p and 720p output. On Kenerate you can pick 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K, in 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 1:1 or 21:9. Higher resolutions cost more per second, so test at 480p or 720p first.

Does Seedance 2.0 make sound?

Yes. It generates audio and video together — effects, ambience and spoken lines from your prompt — and you can add up to 3 audio clips as references. On Kenerate, sound is a toggle and the price is the same with it on or off.

Link to this answer

How do Seedance 2.0 references work?

You can attach up to 9 images, 3 video clips (15 seconds in total) and 3 audio clips (15 seconds in total) and describe in the prompt what each one is for — a character's face, a camera move, a voice. When clips are attached, you pay for the clip seconds plus the output seconds at the lower reference rate (45 credits a second at 720p on Seedance 2.0).

Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 2.5 — what changed?

Seedance 2.5 raises the clip limit from 15 to 30 seconds and accepts up to 30 reference images and 10 audio clips. It costs more: 108 credits a second at 720p versus 72 for Seedance 2.0. For short clips and tight budgets, 2.0 or 2.0 Mini is the better buy.
