Quick answer
What is AI office design, and how do you use it?
AI office design means uploading a photo of your office or spare room and getting it back with a new desk setup, storage, lighting and style, while the window, door, walls and camera angle stay the same. On Kenerate AI you do it with Seedream 5.0 Pro — restyle the whole room, or paint over one wall with Change Region in Edit Studio. The picture can't check ergonomics, so test the desk spot against OSHA's workstation guidance: a monitor 20 to 40 inches away, its top line at or below eye level.

Office redesigns you can actually work in
What gives a usable result.
Shoot from the doorway, level, at desk height, with the window in frame — that's what decides where the desk can go.
Clear the desk and the floor first: cables, boxes and laundry piles come back as clutter in the render.
Say where the desk goes, not just the style: “desk against the left wall, side-on to the window” — OSHA advises placing the monitor perpendicular to a window to cut glare.
Pin the room: “keep the same window, door, radiator, walls, ceiling and camera angle”.
Name real furniture: “oak sit-stand desk, black mesh task chair, white wall-mounted shelves, linen roller blind” beats “cosy office”.
Use Magic Eraser first to remove the old desk or a treadmill, then restyle the empty room.
Look for what the model invents: a second window, a door that moved, or a monitor floating off to the side of the chair.

FAQ
AI Office Design Generator questions
9 questions
What is an AI office design generator?
A tool that redesigns a photo of your office — desk setup, storage, lighting, colour and style — from a text prompt, so you can see a new workspace in your own room before you buy furniture or paint. On Kenerate AI you upload the photo to Seedream 5.0 Pro, describe the office and say what must stay, such as the window, door and walls.
Link to this answerCan AI design my home office from a photo?
Yes, as a picture. Photograph the room from the doorway, upload it, and describe the desk, chair, shelving and light you want, plus “keep the same window, door, walls and camera angle”. In our living-room tests Seedream 5.0 Pro kept the walls, window and camera angle across five styles; still compare every result with your photo for a moved door or an extra window.
Link to this answerIs there a free AI office design tool?
You can start free. A new Kenerate account gets 25 starter credits, and Qwen Image 3.0 is on the free plan: an edit with one photo costs 9.9 credits, enough for quick colour and layout drafts. Seedream 5.0 Pro, the best pick for a finished office redesign, costs 13.5 credits per image at 1K or 1.5K and 27 at 2K, from one-time credit packs. Downloads have no watermark.
Link to this answerWhere should the desk go in a home office?
Where the screen won't face or back onto a window. OSHA's computer workstation guidance says to put the monitor perpendicular to the window, directly in front of you and no more than 35 degrees to either side, 20 to 40 inches from your eyes, with the top line of the screen at or below eye level. Ask the AI for “desk side-on to the window” and check the render against that.
Link to this answerCan AI design an office layout?
It can draw one, but it doesn't measure. An image model will fit two desks into a room that holds one, or put a chair where the door swings. Use the picture for style and rough placement; for a measured plan — a small team office, desk count, walkways — sketch the layout first with a floor plan tool or ask an office designer.
Link to this answerCan AI design a small commercial office or meeting room?
Yes, for the look: a reception wall with your colours, a meeting room with acoustic panels, a team room with bench desks and plants. What it can't do is check the building rules — fire exits, accessible routes, occupancy or electrical loads — which a designer or your landlord's architect handles. Don't put a real client's logo on a render without their permission.
Link to this answerCan I use photos of the real desk or chair I want to buy?
Yes. Add the product photos as extra references next to your room photo and say where each goes — “put the desk from image 2 against the left wall, the chair from image 3 at it”. Nano Banana 2.1 takes up to 14 images, Seedream 5.0 Pro up to 10. Check the sizes on the product page: the model can't tell whether a 160 cm desk fits your wall.
Link to this answerCan I turn a closet or a corner into an office?
Yes — photograph the closet or corner and ask for “a built-in desk in this closet, shelves above, a task light and a slim chair”. Check the leg room before you build: OSHA says the clearance under a desk should generally be 20 to 28 inches high, with nothing stored there that blocks your legs and feet.
Link to this answerHow much does an AI office redesign cost on Kenerate?
It's priced per image in credits, from code: Seedream 5.0 Pro 13.5 credits at 1K or 1.5K and 27 at 2K; Nano Banana 2.1 21 at 1K, 31.5 at 2K and 42 at 4K; GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst 11.7 credits for a medium-quality 1K edit with one photo, plus 4.5 per extra reference; Qwen Image 3.0 9.9 with one photo. No subscription is needed.

Which Kenerate model should you use for an office?
All four take your room photo as a reference and edit it rather than drawing a new room. Credits are per image, read from the app's price code on 22 October 2026.
- Seedream 5.0 Pro — whole-office restyles from one photo, and the default model of Change Region and Magic Eraser in Edit Studio. Up to 10 images. 13.5 credits at 1K or 1.5K, 27 at 2K.
- Nano Banana 2.1 — when the real furniture matters: the desk, chair, shelf or lamp you're about to buy, as extra references. Up to 14 images, 1K to 4K. 21 credits at 1K, 31.5 at 2K, 42 at 4K.
- GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst — literal edits (“move only the desk, keep everything else”). Up to 16 images. 11.7 credits for a medium-quality 1K edit with one photo, plus 4.5 per extra image.
- Qwen Image 3.0 — on the free plan; the default AI Edit model. Up to 3 images. 9.9 credits with one photo. Good for quick colour drafts.
- Several rooms of a small office? Batch edit in Edit Studio runs the same AI edit on up to 20 photos at once.
Home office or small commercial office: what changes?
A home office is usually one person in a room that has another job too — a spare bedroom, a corner of the living room, a closet. The questions are where the desk goes relative to the window, how to hide the clutter, and how to make it feel like work at 9 and like home at 7. Ask for storage that closes, a desk that faces a wall or sits side-on to the window, and warm and task lighting separately.
A small commercial office — a team room, a reception, a meeting room — is about the impression and the acoustics: a brand-colour wall, a reception desk, acoustic panels or felt baffles, plants, and enough light for video calls. The image shows the look; the desk count, walkways, fire exits and accessible routes come from a measured plan and your building's rules.
Office styles and the words that work
A style word alone gives a stock-photo office. Name the desk, the chair, the storage and the light:
- Scandinavian — “light oak sit-stand desk, white walls, white wall shelves, wool rug, linen blind, one large plant”.
- Mid-century study — “walnut desk with tapered legs, leather task chair, teak sideboard for storage, brass desk lamp”.
- Japandi — “low-profile oak desk, paper pendant, closed cabinets in pale ash, beige plaster wall, no visible cables”.
- Dark library — “deep green walls, floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves, wooden desk, green banker's lamp, warm light”.
- Warm modern — “white desk on a wall of oak slats, cream bouclé chair, under-shelf LED strip, closed storage”.
- Industrial loft — “black steel and reclaimed wood desk, metal shelving, exposed brick only if it's already there, pendant over the desk”.
- Small team office — “four bench desks in white oak, acoustic felt panels on the back wall, a brand-colour accent wall, plants in the corners”.
Where should the desk and screen go? Ergonomics the picture can't check
Image models love a desk that faces a window — it looks good in a render and puts glare on the screen and your face in silhouette on calls. They also draw monitors at odd heights. The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's computer workstation eTool gives the checks to hold any render against:
- Monitor directly in front of you, no more than 35 degrees to the left or right.
- Viewing distance between 20 and 40 inches (50 to 100 cm) from your eyes to the screen.
- The top line of the screen at or below eye level.
- Monitor perpendicular to the window.
- Leg clearance under the desk generally 20 to 28 inches (50 to 72 cm) high, with no files, computer towers or boxes stored there.
- Elbows bent between 90 and 120 degrees, feet flat on the floor or a footrest — and change your working position often through the day.
The prompt that keeps it your room
Copy this and fill in the brackets:
- “Redesign this room as a [home office / meeting room / team office] in [style].”
- “Desk: [material + type] against the [left / right] wall, side-on to the window. Chair: [type].”
- “Storage: [closed cabinets / shelves]. Lighting: [task lamp + ceiling / pendant]. Walls: [colour].”
- “Keep the same window, door, radiator, walls, ceiling and camera angle.”
From picture to a working office
An AI office image is a mood board for your own room. Once you like a direction, measure the wall before ordering a desk, check the chair height against the desk height, and plan where the power and network cables run. For a small business office, take the image and a measured plan to an office designer or fit-out contractor.
For a measured layout, sketch it first with the AI floor plan generator; for the rest of the house, use the AI interior design generator.
